  This is a difficult area for enforcement as the road design has placed two crosswalks within a very short distance. I believe this was created so the trail users wouldn’t have to shift 20 feet north to use the crossing at the intersection. I will see if there is anything that can be done from an engineering standpoint.

  Just an idea, but would it be possible to make the whole area a "crossing area". Then it might help stop drivers from moving past the stop line and sitting in the general crossing area.

  The problem is the volume of traffic at that location. When traffic is heavy, cars are stopped in that “crossing” area waiting for cars infront to move thru the intersection and then the light changes cycle to red. They are now stuck in the crossing area thru no fault of their own . We are going to have some traffic engineers take a look. The “crossing area” is a good idea but I don’t believe it will solve the problem
